Oklahoma City (updated!)

I wanted to provide an update regarding my services in Oklahoma City. I've been receiving
numerous inquiries about massage sessions from OKC, and I always keep them informed
about the current status. In mid-December, I reached out to OKC to obtain a business license and understand the requirements for servicing the area. Since I operate as both a massage establishment and a mobile vendor, this has posed some challenges. I completed all the necessary paperwork and submitted it as requested; however, they advised me to hold off on sending my payment, affidavit, and background check. OKC requires a physical address for my massage establishment to enter into their system, and since I'm mobile and based out of Norman, this has created complications.
At the beginning of January, I visited the Development Center for Licensing in hopes of
speaking with someone in person to expedite the process. One of the staff members
informed me that they were collaborating with IT to integrate me into the system. I was
advised to go ahead and obtain my background check from OSBI, bring it to them, and sign
the affidavit, which they would notarize, to hopefully kickstart the process. Once I’m in the
system, my paperwork will undergo police review, and I will need to have my mobile unit
inspected, as is required for all massage establishments in OKC. I promptly went to OSBI and returned to licensing, but I am still waiting for them to enter me into the system or for IT to resolve the issue. I had hoped to hear from them last week, and despite calling twice, I have yet to receive a response.
I wanted to keep many of you updated on the situation in OKC. Please know that I am doing
everything possible to resolve this, as expanding into OKC is a crucial part of my business
plan. Without the city's support, I feel like I’m barely managing to stay afloat.
Typically, it takes massage therapists and establishments six months to a year to build a
clientele and ensure the business can thrive. Launching this venture has been challenging,
and even after opening, I've faced several obstacles. However, I continue to persevere
because I believe in my business concept.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my current clients for their ongoing support
and for being such a wonderful source of word-of-mouth referrals. Without each of you, this
journey would be much more challenging.
I do have a list of potential clients in OKC to contact as soon as I receive approval. I will also
keep you informed of any updates. Regarding other cities, I prefer to focus on one city at a
time, and currently, my complete attention is on OKC.
UPDATE!: This past Wednesday, Feb 5th, I went back down to the OKC Development Services Department, Development Center for Licensing, and after many discussions and getting things sorted out I am thrilled to share that I am now offering my services in Oklahoma City, OK!!! I eagerly anticipate reconnecting with previous clients, welcoming new clients who have reached out, and participating in local events and markets.
To account for the travel distance, there will be a $10 surcharge fee for Oklahoma City residents. This fee will help cover fuel costs and allow me to keep my service prices competitive with other local spas in the area.
However, to celebrate my launch in February, I'm excited to offer a special promotion: OKC clients will receive 10% off their first booking!
